Villa Viviani

Villa Viviani was built in 1200 by Famiglia Tanagli who wanted an “important house” with a splendid view on Santa Maria a Settignano hill. In 1600 the Villa, called also “Belvedere”, passed to the Cerretani family who made important renovation works, in particular the covering of the internal courtyard which became the “Salone delle Feste”.
At the end of 1800 Villa Viviani passed to the Viviani della Robbia family who rented the Villa to the famous writer Mark Twain, where he lived some years with his family and wrote the book “Pudd’nhead Wilson” (Wilson lo zuccone)”.
From 1977 the Villa is used as venue for events and receptions.
